This is a boat-in campsite along the Green River, located about 3 miles below the Little Hole Boat Site. At 6000', this area is typical of a high dessert community that offers natural shade. Each site equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, tent pads, benches, and screening for a potable toilet. From Vernal, take US Hwy 191 north 45 miles. Cross Flaming Gorge Dam,turn right on road leading to the upper launch site at Spillway Boat Ramp.A second boat launch is located 7 miles further down river at Little HoleBoat Ramp. After crossing the dam, continue to Dutch John. Turn rightoff US Hwy 191, go east on Forest Road 075 for about 6 miles. The siteis 10.5 miles below Spillway, and 3.3 miles below Little Hole.From Rock Springs, WY, take US Hwy 191 south 63 miles. A lower boatlaunch site is located further down river at Little Hole Boat Ramp. At thetown of Dutch John, turn left off US Hwy 191 and go east on Forest Road075 for about six miles. The upper boat launch site is seven milesupstream. Just before crossing the dam, turn left on the road leading tothe launch site at Spillway.
Important Information: This is a boat-in camp. It is accessible only by water. Specialregulations apply. Requirements to launch: Boater must carry a bailbucket, throw line, extra oar, and must wear a life jacket while on thewater. The Forest Service requires the use of portable toilet systems forall campers. These toilets must be sealable, flushable, and reusable.Bag-lined systems are not allowed.Please bring your own drinking water.Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance.Program, it states each vehicle must display a Recreation Fee Pass outsideof the campground if using other recreational facilities (e.g. boat ramps,picnic areas, and day-use areas). A daily pass is $2; a 16-day pass is $5;and an annual is $20. Passes can be purchased from the Forest Service,campground managers, and local businesses. The holder of a Golden Passportwill not be required to purchase a recreation fee pass if displayed on thedash of the vehicle.
