TIMPOONEKE

Timpooneke Campground is located in a mountainous area next to the Mt. Timpanogos Wilderness. Aspen, pine and fir trees are the dominant tree species. Drinking water and vault toilets are available. Hiking is a popular activity. No ATV's/OHV's allowed in campground. Campers must have a recreation pass before camping. Three-day passes are $3 per vehicle, Fourteen day passes are $10 per vehicle, and annual passes are $25 per vehicle. Passes are available at entrance stations located on either side of the Alpine Scenic Loop or 3 day passes can be purchased at self service fee tubes located at major trailheads.

TIMPOONEKE Directions

From Salt Lake City, Utah, take Highway 15 to the Alpine-Highland exit(exit 287) and go east on Highway 92 for 5 miles to the junction of Highway92 and the North Fork of American Fork Canyon. Keep going straight east,up the South Fork, and continue on the Alpine Scenic Loop for 3.5 miles tothe campground.For more information please contact Mountain Campground Management at(435)548-2554.

Important Information: Reservations must be made at least 5 days in advance.Recreation pass will be sold at the Fee Demo booth and vehicle fee willbe collected on-site. Highway 92 has a vehicle length restriction of 30feet over the Alpine Scenic Loop, the Timpooneke Campground is on theAlpine Scenic Loop.Pets must be leashed.Quiet hours 10pm to 6am. No discharge of firearms or fireworks2nd vehicle fee collected at campground.This park has first come, first served sites.
