it is either an elk leg bone or a human bone. i am not sure. no, the picture is not from this trail. it is from the elk refuge in jackson hole. i just wanted to use it because my buddy looked so cute.

I’m not the biggest fan of Wal-Mart myself and prefer to do my shopping elsewhere mostly because of their part in the United States huge trade deficit to China. I forget the stats but it is pretty significant. On the other hand having lived near Moab for a summer I could see how it could serve the community. A lot of residence there would travel to Grand Junction, Co for the type of supplies WM offers. Of course Moab would be better off if that money was spent in town rather than out of state. It seems WM gets what it wants at the end of the day, Wasatch County will be getting one soon despite protests from the local community.

Walmart also has a program that helps people with their prescription drugs. How many other stores offer such a program? This is a great plan that would help the people who live in the area.

I think the Walmart is a good idea for everyone. It lets the residents have a place to shop that has really good prices.
It will employ the local residents.
The Moab community should participate in the initial planning stages so that the structure is unique and fits in with the town. Plantings, lighting and outside facades can be tailored to make the building easier to look at.

This is a great concept. It would be a great experience to see colorful art glass collectibles among the greenery of the gardens. The image of the butterfly looks so pretty.

i typically cross country ski there. i have seen quite a few people going up with touring gear. at the top of the road there does look like there may be some decent runs but quite a ways up. you can have a look for yourself with out having to go up too far up. just follow along Coop Creek a minute or two, then take the trail to the left. once you come around the hill you can see the bigger slope i am referring to.

You said that it’s good for ski tours, but what about ski descents? Are there any good shots/runs up at the top of the road? It looks mostly wooded up there.
