Goodness of Slackdom

Contrary to popular belief, a slacker is not some one who shirks his work or responsibility but one who has slack. That said, I would like to invite you all to slack or hang out if you will which, is exactly what I have been up to these days (or months). We have been enjoying the beautiful winter up here in the mountains of Utah. Plenty of blue bird days in between our storm cycles. Our winter has been filled with snowboarding, cross country skiing, sledding, running and plain old hanging out. We took some time this winter to teach our oldest son how to ski. He has been cross country skiing since well, he could walk but we wanted to dial in his down hill skills. We enrolled him in a group of lessons for local kids at The Canyons Ski Resort. Which by the way, he loved and we loved loving that he loved it. My husband and I were able to get out snowboarding together this year instead of the tag team child care thing we usually pull. It was great having my snowboarding partner back, I missed him. Our youngest had a great winter also playing in the snow and making snowmen. He slightly resembled Randy from A Christmas Story at times but still got around well. Luckily, winter is not quite over yet. We are beginning to plan a yurt trip in the Uinta Mountains. We will ski out to the yurt with all our gear and spend the night. Now, go out and slack, your life will appreciate it.
